Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to get an appointment?

We are available by appointment and make every effort to meet our clients' time frames for requested appointments. If you are a new client, we can typically make an appointment within 1 day to 1 week depending on your request.

When do you make appointments?

Appointments for new clients are typically during the weekday; however, for some of our services, we are available to work evenings and weekends.

How long is an appointment?

We have a two hour minimum at any one appointment for clients located in the central Durham-Chapel Hill area; there is a four-hour minimum beyond this area.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Our policies for good business practice include a 24 hour cancellation policy.

How do I make a payment?

Payment is due at the time of service, or within 15 days of receiving an invoice for ongoing clients.  We accept check, cash, PayPal and credit card payments (additional fees apply for Pay Pal and Credit Card).

Do I have to sign a contract?

LFC, Inc. does ask that clients sign an agreement noting the types of services to be provided and the payment method selected.  However, no contract for long-term service is needed.  We work for you when you need us and how you need us.

What is the charge for your first visit?

We would like for you to have the chance to get to know us, since you will be inviting us into your life.  Therefore, we offer a complimentary 30-minute needs assessment.  

This gives us a chance to assess your needs and offer you the best professional to meet your needs.

What are your rates?

Our rates for organizing, bookkeeping and concierge services range from $40-70 per hour depending on the services needed and the timeframe desired.  We have a 2- or 3-hour minimum for appointments.  We are glad to provide for you a more precise rate during our complimentary needs assessment.  Please contact us to discuss.

Rates for Feng Shui and for Professional or Personal Coaching are set individually.  Please contact us directly for these rates.

Do you charge for travel time?

We begin charging for our time when we arrive at your location.  If a pick up, delivery or other errand is required at the beginning or end of the appointment; we conclude our time when the errand is completed.

How will I know who from the LFC staff will be working with me?

After the initial consultation and depending on your exact needs, one of our 12 professionals will become your primary consultant.  Since we each have different areas of expertise, there may be times when more than one LFC person will be at your service, depending on your needs.  If you have a preference or have received a referral, a specific consultant will be happy to serve you.

What qualifications do you have?

We are all professionals, with years of training and experience in our fields; we are members of various professional associations and are eager to meet your needs.  Learn more about us by clicking on Our Staff.  Since we often work as a team, you may have the chance to meet more than one of the LFC Team.

How will I know that you will keep any information about me or my business confidential?

Our ethics as well as our agreement assure you that any and all information that we come across in the course of working with any client is considered confidential -- this includes personal, business, financial, medical, etc.  All LFC, Inc. consultants have undergone a criminal background check.  We are glad to provide references.

Do I have to be at home (or my office) when you come to work?

Once a working relationship is established, many of our clients are not present as we work.  This is entirely up to you and the nature of the work we are doing.
